Creating Confident Children

At The Wallace High School Preparatory Department and Pre-Prep, we pride ourselves on offering exceptional primary and pre-preparatory education in a warm, inclusive environment.

Our vision, Creating Confident Children, shapes a school experience where pupils are encouraged to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We follow a holistic, whole-child approach that balances high academic standards with strong pastoral care, tailored learning support, and a deep commitment to developing each child’s confidence, and creativity.

Children benefit from a rich and varied curriculum that includes extensive sporting, musical, and artistic opportunities, alongside an exciting outdoor learning programme that promotes curiosity, resilience, and wellbeing. Our distinctive location affords pupils rich opportunities for outdoor education, complemented by direct access to the extensive resources of the Grammar School.

Underpinned by our CORE values—Commitment, Opportunity, Respect, and Excellence—Wallace Prep offers a nurturing, future-focused education where every child is known, valued, and inspired.

We hope this website gives you a glimpse of the vibrant life at our school—but nothing compares to experiencing it in person. We’d be delighted to welcome you for a visit and show you all that Wallace Prep has to offer. To arrange a tour, please contact the office on 028 9267 2311 or email prep@wallacehigh.net.

We look forward to welcoming you soon.

Mrs Anna Patterson
Head of Preparatory Department

P1/2 created a cake for Kipper after reading the book The Toy’s Party. It had lots of tasty ingredients – cornflakes, tomato sauce, sugar, jam, milk and baked beans! 🍰
P1–P4 had a brilliant time taking part in a Sentinus STEM workshop inspired by The Three Little Pigs 🐷🏠 The children explored different materials and put their engineering skills to the test by designing and building their own structures. Lots of problem-solving, teamwork and creativity on display — and most importantly, great fun from start to finish!
The P7 girls took part in the The Galaxy Prep Netball Blitz, hosted by Victoria College. The girls showed great determination and teamwork against some tough opposition. We are extremely proud of this group of girls who have continued to work hard as a team all year! Keep up the good work girls 🤩
We're so proud of the grit and determination the girls' football team showed this week! Shout out to our goal scorers Isla and Sophia McB 💪⚽
At Forest School, our P1–4 pupils embraced a New Year challenge! Through our new obstacle course, they developed teamwork, resilience, and confidence while having lots of fun outdoors.
We are very excited for this ❤️❤️❤️
P7 enjoyed their coding lesson in the ICT suite today. They worked on changing backdrops, customising sprites and creating a simple storyline, developing both their technical skills and creativity 💻
Our P1/2 and P3/4 adventurers have been having an absolute blast in Forest School recently. From muddy boots to big smiles, the weather hasn't stopped our pupils from getting outside 🌿
Following an assessment this morning, and with the continued amber storm warning in place, the school will remain closed today. Stay safe.
