Creating Confident Children

At The Wallace High School Preparatory Department and Pre-Prep, we pride ourselves on offering exceptional primary and pre-preparatory education in a warm, inclusive environment.

Our vision, Creating Confident Children, shapes a school experience where pupils are encouraged to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We follow a holistic, whole-child approach that balances high academic standards with strong pastoral care, tailored learning support, and a deep commitment to developing each child’s confidence, and creativity.

Children benefit from a rich and varied curriculum that includes extensive sporting, musical, and artistic opportunities, alongside an exciting outdoor learning programme that promotes curiosity, resilience, and wellbeing. Our distinctive location affords pupils rich opportunities for outdoor education, complemented by direct access to the extensive resources of the Grammar School.

Underpinned by our CORE values—Commitment, Opportunity, Respect, and Excellence—Wallace Prep offers a nurturing, future-focused education where every child is known, valued, and inspired.

We hope this website gives you a glimpse of the vibrant life at our school—but nothing compares to experiencing it in person. We’d be delighted to welcome you for a visit and show you all that Wallace Prep has to offer. To arrange a tour, please contact the office on 028 9267 2311 or email prep@wallacehigh.net.

We look forward to welcoming you soon.

P7 had a great time making thaumatropes as part of our Victorian topic! They tried and tested two different versions - one using straws and another using string. It was fantastic to see their creativity and problem-solving skills in action while exploring this classic Victorian toy!
A very exciting day at Forest School as the children used saws for the very first time! 🌲🪚 After learning about safety rules and how to handle the tools carefully, the children showed fantastic concentration, patience and responsibility while cutting their own pieces of wood. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they developed new skills and worked together outdoors.
This week our Pre-Prep children loved learning about the life cycle of a frog. They explored how frogs grow from eggs to adult frogs. One of their favourite activities was using chia seeds to create their own frogspawn. They then took what they learnt and created fantastic artwork to decorate the classroom! 🐸
As part of our Viking topic, P6 have created their own longships!
Afterschool club have been having a lot of fun lately making junk art robots and suncatchers!
P6 and P7 had an amazing trip to @greenhill_ymca YMCA last week. From paddle boarding to archery tag it was an action packed 3 days! Thank you to everyone at Greenhill YMCA who made it so special!
What a fantastic day led by our wonderful P7 House Captains! They organised a brilliant range of house activities to help everyone earn those all-important house points. We kicked things off with a KS2 Spelling Bee, followed by a fun and competitive general knowledge quiz using Kahoot after break. To top it all off, we ended the day in style with a disco, dance-off and some fantastic performances! 🕺 What an amazing way to finish the week. Well done to all our winners, our fantastic House Captains, and everyone who took part!
We enjoyed some more den making in Forest School this week with the added bonus of the sun! The creativity was flowing and we had multiple rooms in some of the dens and even a window in one! Most importantly we had lots of fun!
A fantastic day 2 at Greenhill YMCA. A full range of activities from bouldering and paddle boarding to climbing and trust ropes course! Now a relaxing movie to round off a busy day 🍿
