Creating Confident Children

At The Wallace High School Preparatory Department and Pre-Prep, we pride ourselves on offering exceptional primary and pre-preparatory education in a warm, inclusive environment.

Our vision, Creating Confident Children, shapes a school experience where pupils are encouraged to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We follow a holistic, whole-child approach that balances high academic standards with strong pastoral care, tailored learning support, and a deep commitment to developing each child’s confidence, and creativity.

Children benefit from a rich and varied curriculum that includes extensive sporting, musical, and artistic opportunities, alongside an exciting outdoor learning programme that promotes curiosity, resilience, and wellbeing. Our distinctive location affords pupils rich opportunities for outdoor education, complemented by direct access to the extensive resources of the Grammar School.

Underpinned by our CORE values—Commitment, Opportunity, Respect, and Excellence—Wallace Prep offers a nurturing, future-focused education where every child is known, valued, and inspired.

We hope this website gives you a glimpse of the vibrant life at our school—but nothing compares to experiencing it in person. We’d be delighted to welcome you for a visit and show you all that Wallace Prep has to offer. To arrange a tour, please contact the office on 028 9267 2311 or email prep@wallacehigh.net.

We look forward to welcoming you soon.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Open Afternoon. The energy, the curiosity, and the excitement made the day truly unforgettable πŸ’™β€οΈ From inspiring conversations to hands-on activities and tours, it was amazing to see our community come together and welcome future students. We loved meeting each of you and sharing what makes our space so special. Missed it? Don’t worry, there will be more opportunities coming soon! 🌟 #OpenDay #Community #FutureStartsHere #ThankYo
Today, P6 pupils got creative in the classroom, making their very own melted snowmen biscuits! Using digestive biscuits, icing sugar and water, marshmallows, chocolate beads, decorative icing and matchmakers, they designed some wonderfully wobbly winter treats. Now that their masterpieces are complete, the class will be writing up the full recipe to share how they made them step-by-step. We can’t wait to see their instructions!
We couldn’t be prouder of Elliot and Teddy Burke after the @swimulster Primary Schools Cup! PBs in every race, Elliot so close to qualifying, and Teddy earning his spot in Dublin for two events. πŸ’™β€οΈ πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈβœ¨
πŸŽ„ Christmas Cookery Fun! πŸŽ„ In our cookery session, we got into the festive spirit by making Christmas Tree Top Hats! πŸŽ…βœ¨ The children had a brilliant time dipping marshmallows in melted chocolate and adding colourful baubles to make their own mini Christmas trees. The best bit? Designing their own decorations (and maybe sneaking a little chocolate along the way! ).
Our P6 and P7 pupils have been exploring Our World, while P4 and P5 have been diving into Our City through brilliant workshops delivered by Young Enterprise. The children were buzzing with ideas, teamwork, and creativity πŸ’‘βœ¨
Building our addition skills, one block at a time! P3/4 using concrete materials to understand column addition. #LearningInAction #HandsOnLearning #ActiveLearning
Our P5/6 team went to Lisburn Racquets Club to compete in a Basketball Blitz πŸ€ They played a total of 5 other schools, making it to the final where they came in 2nd place. They showed great determination, skills and sportspersonship! A huge well done!
P1-4 had a chilly but exciting Forest School session. We explored icy surfaces, and experimented with how ice melts and changes. β„οΈπŸ #ForestSchool #OutdoorLearning #NatureExplorers #HandsOnLearning
