Creating Confident Children

At The Wallace High School Preparatory Department and Pre-Prep, we pride ourselves on offering exceptional primary and pre-preparatory education in a warm, inclusive environment.

Our vision, Creating Confident Children, shapes a school experience where pupils are encouraged to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We follow a holistic, whole-child approach that balances high academic standards with strong pastoral care, tailored learning support, and a deep commitment to developing each child’s confidence, and creativity.

Children benefit from a rich and varied curriculum that includes extensive sporting, musical, and artistic opportunities, alongside an exciting outdoor learning programme that promotes curiosity, resilience, and wellbeing. Our distinctive location affords pupils rich opportunities for outdoor education, complemented by direct access to the extensive resources of the Grammar School.

Underpinned by our CORE values—Commitment, Opportunity, Respect, and Excellence—Wallace Prep offers a nurturing, future-focused education where every child is known, valued, and inspired.

We hope this website gives you a glimpse of the vibrant life at our school—but nothing compares to experiencing it in person. We’d be delighted to welcome you for a visit and show you all that Wallace Prep has to offer. To arrange a tour, please contact the office on 028 9267 2311 or email prep@wallacehigh.net.

We look forward to welcoming you soon.

Our P5-7s had a fantastic session yesterday with @athleticsni ! The energy was high and the competition was friendly as everyone tackled the Med Ball Chest Push, the Standing Long Jump, and the high-energy Speed Bounce. We finished strong with some Soft Javelin Throws and those always-exciting Relay Races! 🏁 Huge thanks to Athletics NI for such a brilliant day of skills and smiles. Who knows, we might have the next Olympian in our midst! πŸ… #SchoolSport #AthleticsNI #ActiveKids #YouthAthletics #TeamWork
Pupils from P1-7 enjoyed a Forest School session on Friday. They worked together to create dragons inspired by Chinese New Year using natural materials. There was plenty of teamwork and creativity on display. πŸ‰
P1/2 braved the weather to go out for a sound trail. They then had to come inside and crack the codes! πŸ”ŽπŸ•΅οΈ
Pre-Prep have been celebrating Chinese New Year this week! 🐴 We have been celebrating the year of the Horse. Pre-Prep had fun finding out that they were born in either the year of the Ox or the Tiger.
The girls were back out playing netball this week at the Netball Ni Blitz. It was a full day of netball and the girls played their hearts out. They are a wonderful group of team players, developing their skills every time they play.
Our P6s turned the classroom into a giant geometry lab! We ditched the notebooks and took our protractors straight to the desks for some hands-on investigation. From identifying obtuse angles to measuring precise acute angles, there’s nothing quite like writing on the tables to make math click.
Flip, eat, repeat! πŸ₯ž Our P5–7s took over the griddle for #PancakeTuesday today. High spirits, steady hands, and plenty of toppings made for a brilliant afternoon of baking. Well done to our master flippers! πŸ‘¨β€πŸ³πŸ‘©β€πŸ³ #PancakeDay #PrimarySchool #SkillsForLife
Our Pre-Prep pupils were busy creating masterpieces for #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek. Using the theme "This is My Place," drawing where they feel a sense of belonging. Small hands, big hearts, and beautiful art. πŸ–ŒοΈπŸ’› #MentalHealthWeek2026 #PrePrep #SchoolLife #Belonging
P7 thoroughly enjoyed their civil engineering workshop, @thebigbridge_ supported by @lisburnccc . Working together as a team, they successfully built an impressive 13-metre bridge!
